There was no missing Jessica Chastain's neon Gucci fringe dress at the Emmys
There were many awards given out tonight at the 75th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, including the unofficial best dressed titles as deemed by the Cosmopolitan fashion desk. Yep, all our favourite celebrities including Suki Waterhouse, Jenna Ortega and Selena Gomez pulled out the stops with stunning red carpet 'fits.
But we would be remiss not to mention the one and only Jessica Chastain in custom Gucci.
Jessica is no stranger to wearing bold colours on the red carpet, and tonight was no exception. Her neon green citron-coloured gown stood out in a sea of bright red, jewel tones, and neutrals. Only a few attendees went for a shock of colour this evening, and Jessica pulled it off beautifully.
With a plunging neckline, this fully sequined gown with beaded fringes was the definition of glamorous, while the highlighter hue gave it some edge. The colour and embroidered details were taken from Gucci’s Spring Summer 2024 collection. Gucci’s newly appointed creative director, Sabato De Sarno, incorporated this green hue along with beaded fringe in his inaugural SS24 collection. (There’s no doubt that we’ll be seeing more of both trends in 2024.)
The accessories did not miss either. We loved the choice of her Art Deco earrings and matching emerald ring. They were statement-making and complimented the dress perfectly by being a contrasting shade of green – a pairing you wouldn’t normally see. In addition, the earrings really made her eyes pop.
Jessica kept it simple for glam. The subtleness of the makeup, done by Kristofer Buckle, was a perfect pairing for such bold fashion. All in all, the brilliant balance between bold and minimal is what carried this look across the finish line and right into Cosmo's sartorial hall of fame.
Yep, safe to say Jessica didn't steal the limelight, she *was* the limelight.
