Nike LeBron 17 debuts with Monstar colorway from 'Space Jam'

Since their release last fall, the Nike LeBron 17 shoes have seen their fair share of reveals in highly-desired colorways. However, this latest one might be the most exciting yet. Available nationwide on Thursday, the Nike LeBron 17 “Monstars” design pays homage to the 2021 release of the “Space Jam” sequel, where the King will portray the fearless leader of the Looney Tunes squad.

The Nike LeBron 17 Monstars shows off a polished black knit upper, featuring multi-color accents, a shimmering purple midsole and iridescent “0” detailing on the tongue. Nike is commemorating the 2021 film alongside this weekend’s All-Star Weekend festivities in Chicago, where James is expected to don these kicks when he takes the hardwood during Sunday’s All-Star game.

Unlike previous releases of the 17’s, Nike added a high-volume Max Air heel unit to provide shock absorption during intense play and two new Air Zoom pads under the forefoot to yield an explosive response on the way up and extra cushioning on the way down.

The Nike LeBron 17 Monstars retail for $225 and are officially available for purchase via several online retailers in adult and grade school sizes.
