Niecy Nash-Betts Is a Detective on a Mission in “Grotesquerie”'s Teaser — Plus, See the First Look at Travis Kelce's Character!

Few details are known about Kelce's character in the new Ryan Murphy horror drama series, which also stars Lesley Manville and Courtney B. Vance

Something is amiss in Niecy Nash-Betts' hometown – and she's the only one who can sense it.

In the first teaser for Grotesquerie, the all-new horror drama series from Ryan Murphy, Betts stars as Detective Lois Tryon, and she's fending off an unusual evil.

"I don't know how it started," Nash-Betts, 54, says as the teaser begins, with sirens playing in the background and clips of mysterious crime scenes flashing. "It's like a hole opened up in the world – to the center of nothingness."

A puzzle then takes center stage, showing an animal standing upright on two legs with bull-like horns before the scene transforms into a brief glimpse at a real-life version of the frightening face and horns, a potential hint at the evil that's lurking in Nash-Betts' town.

Other scenes flash on the screen, showing a small strip of a town in the mountains, lit by neon signs, with crosses scattered throughout as someone in a nun's uniform cycles through.

Then, a woman screams, and another character muses, "This killer is sermonizing, proselytizing, preaching. To understand this monster, we have to decipher these murders."

More disturbing scenes flash onscreen, including several shots hinting at the mysterious killer being related to the devil as crosses continue appearing and a fiery lava pit appears in the middle of the road.

"Something is happening around us," Nash-Betts says, and in the next flash of scenes, Travis Kelce's character is finally shown – albeit briefly – as he moves his hands in front of his body in a motion that alludes to some kind of magic.

The teaser end with Nash-Betts' character saying, "Nobody sees but me."

Per the official description, Grotesquerie sees a "series of heinous crimes" unsettle a small community, and Detective Lois Tryon (Nash-Betts) "feels these crimes are eerily personal, as if someone—or something—is taunting her."

While she "grapples with a strained relationship with her daughter (played by Raven Goodwin), a husband in long-term hospital care (Courtney B. Vance) and her own inner demons," she "fears the world is succumbing to evil."

Lois accepts the help of nun and journalist Sister Megan (Micaela Diamond), who "has seen the worst of humanity, yet she still believes in its capacity for good" and they "string together clues" on the mysterious evil, before they "find themselves ensnared in a sinister web that only seems to raise more questions than answers."

Along with Nash-Betts, Kelce, Vance, Goodwin and Diamond, Lesley Manville and Nicholas Alexander Chavez star as Nurse Redd and Father Charlie, respectively.

Details on Kelce's character remain under wraps, including his name and what role the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, will play in the ten-episode horror drama.
