Nicole gets candid about her adopted kids

She's spent years keeping mum on the subject of her two oldest children, but Nicole Kidman has finally opened up about her relationship with her two adopted kids, Connor and Isabella Cruise.

The 50-year-old actress and ex-husband Tom Cruise adopted Connor and Bella during their 11 year marriage, with the kids opting to stay with their famous father following their split.

And despite constant reports of a riff between the two, Woman's Day reports Nicole as revealing she "regularly texts" her 24-year-old daughter and 22-year-old son, adding she took on her acclaimed role in Lion as "homage to their relationship".

Playing an Australian mum who adopts a child from India in the award-winning flick, the mag continues quoting Nicole as saying her role was a "love letter to my children".

Nicole is also proud mum to Faith Margaret and Sunday Rose, whom she shares with hubby Keith Urban.

Woman's Day adds that while Faith, seven and Sunday, nine, have largely been kept out of the spotlight, now they're getting older they're starting to get more vocal on their mum's career and their parent's PDA on the red carpet!

Before celebrating her 50th birthday last month, New Idea reported that Connor and Bella were refusing to attend Nic's star-studded birthday bash.

After Nic and Tom's 2001 divorce, their two adopted kids opted to stay with their dad, with constant reports their relationship with the Big Little Lies star has been strained after she distanced herself from the Church of Scientology.
