Shock twist on My Kitchen Rules will change the whole game

My Kitchen Rules always promises to bring the drama, but in 2019 it seems the pressure cooker could truly explode from the get go thanks to a shock new twist.

In a MKR first, next year’s season will see two strangers join forces to impress judges Manu Feildel and Pete Evans.

But considering they don’t know anything about each other, it’s going to be a tough feat to serve up a seamless menu each time.

How the new season will be different

The usual rules of the cooking competition entail teams of two creating delicious culinary experiences at dinner parties attended by opponents and the judges.

Up until now, every team has been made up of people who know each other, whether they be couples, a parent and child, siblings, colleagues or good friends.

Sneak peek

On Monday Channel Seven released a teaser for the new series, which shows two women, who have never met, preparing to come face-to-face ahead of their joint debut on the show as a single team.

And if this dramatic sneak peek is anything to go by, they couldn’t be any more different.

“I can work with all ranges of different people,” says one of the women.

Meanwhile the other has a very different mentality about cooking.

“I’m the leader in the kitchen. I prefer to cook by myself,” she sternly says.

The 10th anniversary season of My Kitchen Rules returns to Channel Seven in 2019.
