While Lindsay's nail is still in tact, the epidermis of her finger was stitched back on, just below the first joint.

"To make this very clear. The bottom part of my finger was ripped off. It was not "chopped" or "severed" off," Lindsay said of her injury shortly after it happened.

"I almost lost my finger from the anchor. Well, I lost half my finger, thank goodness we found the piece of my finger… I just had surgery to fix it… it hurts so bad."

The Mean Girls actress was on a boat in Turkey when the accident occurred and was immediately taken to a hospital where she underwent a procedure to reattach the lost part of her finger.

Despite her injury, Lindsay was keen to get back to her humanitarian work as soon as possible, where she has been showing her support for Syrian refugees around the Eurasian area.
