This year’s NFL training camp will be unlike anything players have experienced before. In many ways.
They’ll know it’s different right from the start. When Tom Brady reported to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers facility on Thursday morning, it wasn’t the normal arrival for a legendary quarterback with a new team.
It was to take a test for COVID-19, so he can get cleared to start camp.
Tom Brady reports for tests
Players need to have two negative coronavirus tests before being allowed in the team facility. Players will be tested daily for at least the first two weeks of camp.
Brady showed up to get his first test in the testing trailer, with a couple of Tampa television stations filming it from afar.

Brady will be in his 21st NFL training camp, and no others have started like that. Between the testing, no preseason games, social distancing at facilities and other protocols, players will spend plenty of time figuring out how to adjust.
It will be different. But the hope is that it leads to regular-season games starting on Sept. 10, which would be at least somewhat normal.
