John Mayer returns to the stage after surgery
John Mayer has performed for the first time in ten months after suffering vocal chord troubles.
The Your Body is a Wonderland singer, 35, got on stage for the first time in nearly a year on Wednesday after recovering from his second throat granuloma.

Mayer performed Speak for Me at a benefit concert honouring firefighters in Montana.
Mayer's Twitter page featured a photo of the singer on stage at the concert, and a caption reading:
"And we're back."

Mayer told Ellen DeGeneres in December of his surgery:
"They cut this thing out, then they inject your vocal cords with Botox, which freezes [them] so [they] can heal without smacking up against the other side. I just need more Botox next time."
The singer, who is dating pop princess Katy Perry, revealed how he was keeping busy during his singing hiatus, explaining:

"I can't sing, so I'm writing. I live in Montana – middle of nowhere.
"It's really excellent. You get to a certain age where you prepare yourself for happiness.
"Sometimes you never remember to actually get happy. I remembered to get happy."
