A never-before-seen photo of Prince William, Catherine and Prince George has surfaced online, showing the young family looking happy and relaxed ahead of their Royal Tour of Australia and New Zealand'''.

The photograph, taken in March 2014 by photographer Jason Bell, was used as thank you gifts from the royal family to officials and hosts during their royal tour.

The photo, uploaded to social media overnight, is of the smiling family - complete with the then eight-month-old George's signature chubby cheeks - and includes Wills and Kate's signatures underneath.

A Kensington Palace spokesman confirmed the details of the portrait, saying: "I can confirm it is a photo the Duke and Duchess used as official gifts on their tour to New Zealand and Australia."
