The Queen wins the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot!

The Queen looked thrilled as Estimate, her dark bay thoroughbred filly, won the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot on Wednesday.

The horse was the 7-2 favorite.

The 87-year-old royal, who was originally scheduled to hand out the winning trophy, received the award from the Duke of York.

The win earned £1.5 million to the punters who backed the Queen’s horse, while the Queen who does not bet, received only the £155,960 owner’s prize.

In the race’s 207-year history, Queen Elizabeth is the first reigning monarch to win the Gold Cup.

Her grandson Peter Phillips said:
