Wills and Kate wrap up royal tour of New Zealand

Today marks the last day of the New Zealand leg of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's royal tour.

Wills and Kate squeezed in a visit to the RNZ Police College where the royal couple paid their respects to those officers killed on duty, and were treated to a training display, which included a police dog demonstration.

From here they concluded their 10-day tour of New Zealand with a walk through the Wellington Civic Centre where they signed the city's visitors book to help commemorate their stay.

During their 10-day stay, Prince William, Duchess Kate and their son, Prince George not only New Zealand, but the rest of the world.

From the moment they stepped off the plane in Wellington on April 7, Kate in her red Catherine Walker coat and Prince George with his chubby cheeks, it was clear that the new generation of royals were going to be just as captivating as their predecessors.

Eight-month-old Prince George stole the show during the family's arrival, but it was at his first event, a royal playdate, where he truly charmed people the world over.

The event was the first of what is sure to be a long list of royal engagements for the young prince.

Despite no more sightings of the little prince, Wills and Kate managed to keep the royal momentum going, finding the perfect balance between honouring the Commonwealth country and enjoying the best of what New Zealand has to offer.

Taking the time to pay tribute to those who lost their lives during World War One and visiting the site of the 2011 Earthquake in Christchurch, honouring the 185 people who died.

The Duchess also spent time visiting with sick children at Rainbow Place Hospice, to raise awareness the importance of care for terminally ill children, a cause close to her heart.

However the fun-loving couple made they also had some fun, taking to Auckland Harbour to race each other in America's Cup yachts in a rematch from their 2011 Dragon Boat race during their Canadian tour.

They also enjoyed a Shotover Jet ride in Queenstown, got competitive in a game of cricket, and indulged in some of the country's internationally renowned wines.
