Since the Palace's official announcement of royal baby Prince George's christening date last week, a new report has surfaced that not all of the key members of the royal family will be attending the milestone family event.
According to the Daily Mail, Prince William's aunts Princess Anne and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, will not be attending, as well as uncles Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, who currently sit at fifth and eighth in line for the throne. Princess Anne is 11th in the line of accession.When asked whether William's aunts and uncles had been invited to the event in the first place, a royal source told the Mail:"All I can say is that the christening will be an intimate affair," a royal source told the Daily Mail.GALLERY: Who will be the royal godparents?
Kensington Palace refused to comment last night, saying: "We will announce the full guest list in due course when we are ready to do so."Guests rumoured to be attending include Wills' longest-serving advisor Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, his best friend Thomas van Straubenzee and ex-royal nanny Tiggy Legge-Bourke.Other expected attendees include Queen Elizabeth II, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and some Middleton family members.
