Oscar nominations for 2013 announced!

Academy Awards hosts Seth MacFarlane and actress Emma Stone announced the nominees for the 85th Academy Awards in Beverly Hills Thursday morning.

Leading this year's nominations is Steven Spielberg's film Lincoln, with 12 nods, including Best Picture, and Best Director.

It's star Daniel Day-Lewis is up for Best Actor and and Sally Field is nominated for Best Supporting Actress.

The film was followed by Life of Pi, which received 11 nominations, and Les Miserables, which received nine.

Other stars in the running for Best Actor include Bradley Cooper, Hugh Jackman, Joaquin Phoenix and Denzel Washington.

Best Actress nominees include Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, Emmanuelle Riva, Quvenzhané Wallis and Naomi Watts.

Although Ben Affleck's film Argo was nominated for Best Picture, he was snubbed in the category for Best Director.

Other snubs were Leonardo DiCaprio and Matthew McConaughey for Best Actor.
