Britney Spears is 2012's top-earning woman in music, followed by Taylor Swift and Rihanna.

According to Forbes magazine, the I Wanna Go singer, 31, raked in $58 million over the past year.

Spears' financial success comes from her latest album Femme Fatale and supporting tour, her new Elizabeth Arden fragrance, and the $15 million paycheck she received as a host on The X Factor.

Begin Again songstress Taylor Swift, 22, took the second place spot, earning $57 million.

Her latest album, Red, has already gone triple platinum, and her tour has made millions of dollars.

She also scored a deal with CoverGirl cosmetics.

Rihanna followed behind in third place with $54 million.

She had a successful tour, and hits including Diamonds and We Found Love.

The 24-year-old singer also has endorsements with Vita Coco and Nivea, and the fragrance Reb'l Fleur.

Other women on in the top ten spots on the Forbes list included Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Beyonce, Adele, Sade, Madonna, and Shakira.

The star earnings were calculated based on record sales, tours, endorsements and other business ventures.
