As Prince Harry approaches his 30th birthday, news that his first love, Chelsy Davy is engaged is sure to hit home.

The Prince's ex, who he dated on-and-off for six years, is reportedly set to announce her engagement to society jeweller Charles Goode this week.

The 28-year-old attorney and former model has been enjoying a romantic holiday in Africa with her beau, where the pair have been hiking, fishing and going on safari.

Friends of the couple told the Daily Mail that they believe he proposed at the peak of Mount Mulanje.

One friend revealed: "Charles was planning to propose on holiday and everyone thinks he has now done it. He is off-comms out there, so if there is an announcement it will come this week when they return home."

Another friend added: "‘He made it pretty clear before he left for Africa that he wants to marry Chelsy."

Chelsy dated Prince Harry off and on from 2004 until they finally called it quits in 2010.

An insider told the Mail of the young royal: "The years Harry was with Chelsy were some of the happiest of his life. There has always been a sense that he might get back with her one day. Of course, if she marries that will no longer be the case."
