Michael Douglas has opened up about his 12-year-old son's dating life.
The 68-year-old actor and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, 43, are preparing their pre-teen son Dylan for the world of dating.
Douglas told People magazine at the premiere of Zeta-Jones's latest film Side Effects in New York:
"I’m trying to digest it all, and I’m just trying to remember what it’s like to be in a teenage romance.
"And what I remember scares me as a father!"
He added: "I’m not the over-protective dad. Dylan is a great kid and I trust him.
"He’s having fun and conducting himself very well.”
On who his son can date, Douglas said:
"I don’t have much say in it. I keep my mouth shut. But I like his choices so far.”
Although he stays out of his son's dating decisions, the Oscar-winning actor explained:
"[I] want him to know to always be polite and respectful and just don’t try too hard."
On his own love life with his wife of 12 years, he said:
"Catherine and I are doing well. She is more beautiful than ever inside and out.
"I support her with everything and she is simply the best."
