When Home and Away sweethearts Rebecca Breeds and Luke Mitchell tied the knot in real life, they truly led family and friends ‘into the wild’ – and this week New Idea shares all the exclusive pictures and magical moments from their big day.
Rugged and romantic, NSW’s Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat was the venue for a fairytale celebration.
There were stunning views, handsome white horses – a stallion for the groom, plus a pint-sized pony for the bride – garlands of flowers, lanterns and even a visiting wombat.
In a heartfelt interview – out today – the couple tell New Idea the bush setting was just what they were after.
‘It reminds me of A Midsummer Night’s Dream,’ says diminutive bride Rebecca, who looked like a beautiful woodland nymph in her custom-made Steven Khalil gown.
‘It’s a different kind of church, with God in nature.’

And so it was, although nature – as ever – went its own sweet way. With the thermometer soaring to 38 degrees, the ceremony was pushed back by an hour so the couple’s 70 guests wouldn’t suffer too much in the searing heat.
But despite the weather it all went off without a hitch.
Luke, looking as handsome as ever in a grey Herringbone suit, smiled at his bride as he promised:
‘I will be guided by love, not fear.
I will take care of you, support you, honour you, listen to you, inspire you... and love you completely forever.’
