1. Big bouncy waves!
Waves or curls make hair look fuller than it really is, so try using hot rollers. Dry hair completely, then wind each section around rollers, pinning into place. "Have a coffee and wait 15 minutes, then unwind," says L'Oreal Paris international hair colour expert Christophe Robin. That's all it takes to get va-va-voom volume!

2. Must-try treatment
Steal this beauty secret of French women - sleep with oil in your hair. "Oil gives the hair nutrition, seals the ends and helps treat frizz," Christophe says. Brush two teaspoonfuls through from your mid-lenghts to ends, then secure in a ponytail before going to bed. Wash out in the morning for soft, smooth and shiny strands. And don't undo all your good work the next day - make sure you use a hair serum or cream on your mid-lengths before styling, to protect against heat damage.

3. Shower secrets
Not rinsing your hair thoroughly can lead to a build up of product, which weighs your hair down and leaves it looking flat and greasy. "you should rinse like crazy until you feel nothing on your scalp," Christophe says. Try switching to a shampoo that helps bulk up thinning strands for a fuller look. For extra nourishment, replace your conditioner with a leave-in treatment every second wash.

4. Pantry fix
Traditional remedies made form simple kithcen ingredients can really work wonders for your hair. Christophe's number-one fix? Raw apple cider vinegar. "It will renew your scalp, help break down excess sebum and grease, and make your hair shine," he says. Just mix four or five capfuls in a bit of water and massage from scalp to ends. For extra gloss, leave in overnight.

5. Create 3D colour
Use colour to give your hair a three-dimensional appearance. "when you look at someone with a sun-kissed look, like (supermodel) Gisele Bundchen, she has a lot of dark hair, and jsut her tips and bits around her face look blonder. It looks like you have more hair, and it's creating shadows and lights within the hair," explains Christophe.

6. Fight flat hair
"Always dry your hair upside down, as it puts more body in your roots," advises Christophe. Still finding your hair sits flat? Spritz a sea-salt spray onto damp hair before blow-drying. Instant oomph!
