Mother of Bonds baby winner fights back

Cute as a button with his gorgeous grin, it’s easy to see why three-year-old Parker Abianac has been named a People’s Choice winner of this year’s Bond Baby Search.

However, his win has been met by cruel online comments from some rival parents – first attacking his choice of dress, then complaining his win was because of his genetic condition.

The bubbly Brisbane toddler, who was born with Down syndrome, is a natural in front of the camera – but doting mum Kat, 31, admits Parker has been bullied online.

‘I put a photo of him on Facebook,’ she says. ‘There were six or seven comments saying: “It’s a pretty onesie, but I’d never put my boy in that” and then it got nastier. I thought: “That’s horrible! Who judges a child on what they’re wearing?” Parker just likes anything that’s bright with lots of colours.’

Above all, Kat’s proud of her beautiful boy, who’s about to enjoy his first plane trip – going to Melbourne for his finalist photoshoot.

‘Parker will always be a winner to me,’ Kat says with a smile.
