Inside Duchess Catherine £10,000-a-head fundraiser

Duchess Catherine will host a lavish fundraiser near her home in Norfolk.

The royal will throw a £10,000-a-head party at Houghton Hall, the home of the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley, in order to raise funds for the East Anglia Children's Hospice, of which she is a patron.

According to the Mail on Sunday, the ball will begin with a champagne reception and include a lecture by writer Anthony Horowitz, a live jazz band and a magician.

Houghton Hall is just a short distance from Catherine and Prince William's Norfolk residence, Anmer Hall where they live with their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Meanwhile, Catherine recently praised her grandmother-in-law Queen Elizabeth for her generosity, support and gentle guidance.

She said: 'She's been very generous in not being forceful at all in any of her views. I feel she's been there, a gentle guidance really for me.'

And the Queen is planning to hand over some of her duties to Duchess Catherine.

The 89-year-old royal wants to cut down on her workload and has reportedly decided to pass on her patronage of the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, which is responsible for Wimbledon, to her granddaughter-in-law.
