Real-life read: I'm 110 years old!


When Peg Vivian was born, King Edward VII was on the throne, Australia had only four million people and Albert Einstein had just published his theory of relativity.

That was back in February 1906. Times may have changed; but Peg’s still going strong!

‘I don’t feel any different, just the same as always,’ beams Peg, from the Perth home she shares with daughter Peggy, 84.

So what’s her secret?

‘Nothing special. I’ve always eaten good food – never too much of it – and I don’t drink alcohol,’ she confides.

The great-grandmother has also kept fit over the decades: ‘I did yoga for years, then in my early 90s, I took up aqua aerobics.’

Peg treasures cards from the Queen she received at 100, then 105, but, Peg frowns: ‘I haven’t received one for turning 110!’
