They’ve won the hearts of the nation as the loud and proud Italian best friends on My Kitchen Rules' – but it seems there’s more to Luciano and Martino’s relationship than meets the eye.

‘The first time we met, 11 years ago, we hooked up briefly at Mardi Gras,’ Luciano tells New Idea.
‘It was very brief – as soon as Mardi Gras finished, it was ended. We were introduced by a mutual girlfriend. Since then, we’ve been really close friends.’

Martino says they discovered their shared passion for food after their weekend of love.
‘Our friendship grew from our love of cooking,’ he explains.
When asked if the pair plan to rekindle their romance, both boys laugh off the suggestion.
‘No. Absolutely no. That’s a definite no,’ Luciano declares.
Martino, 48, adds: ‘No more romance with Luciano – just good friends.’
