Why Anita Cobby will never be forgotten

Thirty years later, the abduction, rape, torture and murder of former beauty queen Anita Lorraine Cobby continues to resonate and horrify.

Two days later, her bloody and beaten body was discovered in a field at a farm in the outer suburb of Prospect.

Sadistic teenage rapist John Travers and four others – brothers Michael, Gary and Leslie Murphy and mate Michael Murdoch – were later convicted of murder.
