Duchess Camilla breaks down at domestic violence centre

Duchess Camilla was reduced to tears at the domestic abuse centre, SafeLives.

The Duchess of Cornwall listened to each brave woman's story as they shared their horrific experiences of suffering from domestic violence.

Camilla spoke with the mother and best friend of Joanna Brown, who was tragically murdered at the hands of her husband, British Airways Captain Robert Brown, in 2010.

The Safelives event took place in South East London, and aimed to draw attention to ending domestic abuse in the UK.

The Duchess of Cornwall gave a moving speech about this issue.

‘It’s so important that people like yourselves speak up otherwise we gloss over it. And this is too important an issue to ignore,' she said.

‘I want to do anything I can to help raise this issue. All of you going around and talking about it does create awareness.’
