The Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal kicked off today and will take place until December 24.

Kmart, The Salvation Army and Mission Australia have teamed up to help struggling families during the Christmas period by gifting households with presents during the festive season.

The charity has donated more than six million gifts in its history and aims to help more than 300,000 families this Christmas.

'Our little family is so proud to be involved with the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal for 2015. We are enormous fans of the work done by The Salvation Army and new program partner Mission Australia, and so grateful for all they do, especially over the festive season.

'We are lucky enough to have plenty of food, warmth, family and love around us, but so, so many do not. I strenuously encourage Australians to be generous this Christmas and help those doing it tough,' said Zoe Foster-Blake.

You can take part by donating a gift by placing it under a Kmart Wishing Tree in any store nationally; making a cash contribution via the Wishing Tree baubles at a Kmart register or donating online.
