It's no secret that Prince Charles is a crusader for environmental conservation, and it would seem his grandson Prince George follows in his footsteps.

In an interview with Sky News, the Prince opened up about his two-year-old grandson.

'Fortunately he's one of those characters, I think, who naturally, instinctively likes to be outside,' said the 67-year-old.

'It's very interesting. I'm intrigued to see if it lasts. But he loves being outside, which is encouraging.

Charles also revealed how he wanted to educate George about climate change.

'Like all these things, it depends if you can get them to take an interest,' he claimed.

'But half of it comes from explaining the minutiae of life sometimes.'

An insider told Us Weekly that the Prince and his grandson bond over during time spent gardening.

'George recently helped his granddad plant a balsam poplar tree and a winter orange lime tree,' the source spilled.

'They love to garden together.'
