Excited, nervous and a little lost, Sharyn Hodgson was only 17 when she first starred on Home And Away as one of Tom and Pippa Fletcher’s troubled foster kids.
Fast-forward 30 years, and the open-hearted actress is now a real-life foster mother to children in need, welcoming them into the family home she shares with husband Stuart and their 12-year-old daughter Bella-Rai.

'It’s funny, isn’t it? I didn’t make the Home And Away connection at first,’ laughs Sharyn, 47, who went on to become a natural therapist and qualified counsellor after walking away from TV fame.
Sharyn started caring for other people’s children eight years ago - since then, her little family has taken in around 12 foster kids, ranging in age from babies to eight-year-olds, for periods from weeks to years at a time.
