Her mentor Dannii came under fire from the other judges for her song choices, but eliminated contestant Georgia Denton, 15, has nothing but praise for the judge.

How did you find the whole experience during X Factor?
It's been amazing, there's so much I can take from it. I've learnt so much - as well as singing, I've found out a lot more about who I want to be as an artist.

How did Dannii feel about you being eliminated? What did she say to you after the show?
I think Dannii was a bit disappointed. Obviously I was one of her acts and part of Team Minogue, so now she's gone down from three to two. I guess it has to happen sometimes, all good things must come to an end and sadly it did - and sooner than I had hoped for.

What was Dannii like as a mentor?
Dannii's definitely a lovely person. She was always making sure I was comfortable with everything, not just the song but also the clothes I was wearing and everything like that.

Dannii got lots of criticism from the other judges about her song choices for you. Did you ever dislike the songs you'd been given?
I loved this week's song choice. The other judges didn't, obviously, but I loved it. I don't know who doesn't love The Jackson 5.

Did you feel the song you sang was too low or too high?
No, not at all. I felt bad for Dannii. It's hard, people out there will criticise the songs I'd been given, and they'll say I'm too young all the time, but, you know, Michael Jackson sang that song when he was 11.

What about the first week's song?
The first week's song, Hold My Hand, was definitely the hardest one I'd been given, it really took me out of my comfort zone. I'm not really someone who sings upbeat songs and dances around. It was definitely hard for me.

Did Dannii talk to you much about the stuff the judges were saying?
Yeah, she definitely talked to me about it afterwards and said: 'You couldn't have given any more.' She threw a few air punches.

Her and James Blunt, in particular, butted heads a lot, largely when you were on stage. What did you think about that?
Obviously James has his opinion, as does everybody watching. Not everyone's going to agree with how I'm singing or how I'm performing and not everyone's going to like my voice, it's just personal preference. He obviously didn't like that song. That's his opinion and that's totally fine.

Was it hard for you?
It was a bit awkward while they were arguing. I was kind of like: 'Ok guys, I'm over here!'

Do you think you might have gone further with a different mentor?
I don't know, you never know what might have happened.

Did nerves play a factor for you?
I was a little bit nervous but I think people try to keep you calm and I'm a pretty calm personality. I just tried to focus on enjoying it, because it's only for a short period of time, so I wanted to enjoy it as much as I could.

You were a big fan of the show before - was it different to how you imagined it would be?
It definitely is very weird being on it instead of watching it. It's very strange seeing myself on TV and people recognising me and getting photos taken with me.

How supportive has everyone been at school? Has there been any negativity?
Everyone's been really amazing and everyone's really supportive of me, which has been really good.

How well did you get to know the other contestants, and the other girls in your group?
I was close with a lot of the contestants, not necessarily the other girls. I was close with other people from other categories. I probably bonded most with Jess & Matt and Jimmy. I think I've just always hung around with people older than me.

Who do you think will take out the competition?
I think it's anyone's game really, because they're all so different. I'd like Jess & Matt to win, and I also think Cyrus has a pretty good shot.

What are your plans now?
I'm going to take any opportunity that comes and is right for me, and just continue with music. I'm going to take the time to discover exactly who I am, but this whole experience has definitely given me a better idea of the artist I want to be and the direction I want to go in.
