Princess Charlotte’s christening this weekend will be photographed by acclaimed photographer - and Princess Diana’s personal favourite - Mario Testino.

Prince William and Duchess Catherine’s two-month-old daughter will undergo the religious ceremony on Sunday, July 5 at the same historic country church, St. Mary Magdalene in Sandringham, Norfolk, where Diana herself was christened in 1961.

The official photos will be provided by Testino, who was responsible for some of the most iconic photos of the late princess, as well as the prince and his wife’s engagement portraits.

A huge turnout is expected for the event, from both the royal family and William and Kate’s friends, and speculation is running high as to who will be chosen as the newborn’s godparents.

Bookmakers are offering odds on a range of people, including Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie being chosen, although royal watchers expect the family to choose their friends, as they did with their firstborn, Prince George, who will be two in July.

Favourites include either Hugh, Edward or Nicholas van Cutsem, after William van Cutsem was chosen as a godfather for George, or William’s old school friend Thomas van Straubenzee and his wife Lady Melissa von Straubenzee.
