Bindi Irwin might deal with deadly animals everyday as part of her work with Australia Zoo, however the 16-year-old admits there's one teeny-tiny creature that scares her.

The 16-year-old Wildlife Warrior may have a strong love for animals much like her late father Steve Irwin, but if there's one that she's not too keen on, it's bees

Bindi celebrated the Discovery Channel's 30th anniversary at the Paley Center in New York on Wednesday and explained where her fear of bees came from.

"When I was about 2 years old, I found a bee that had been stepped on the foot path, and so I picked it up to rescue it, and it stung me on the hand," she recalled.

"From that day forward, I've been terrified of bees."

The wildlife conservationist, who has worked with everything from crocodiles to snakes, and bugs, admits she prefers crocodiles to bees any day, which was also one of her father's favourite animals.

"Give me a 15-ft. crocodile any day over a bee," she quipped.

Bindi's father passed away in 2006 after a freak accident with a sting ray.
