For The Bold And The Beautiful star Linsey Godfrey, February 2 started like any other day. She’d had a manicure and spent time with her daughter Aleda, then eight months, before popping out to pick up some nappies.
But then, in an instant, everything changed.
"I was on the sidewalk when two cars collided," recalls the 26-year-old, who plays Caroline Spencer Forrester on the US soap. ‘I tried to run but I couldn’t run fast enough."

One of the cars hit Linsey, pinning her down. "I remember looking down... my feet were basically facing the wrong way."
Both ankles were dislocated and the bones in one leg pierced through her skin. Yet she was lucky. Had she frozen rather than run, Linsey says, she "wouldn’t be here today".
Despite the pain, her first thoughts were of Aleda. "I remember thinking that I had to breastfeed my baby," she recalls. "I’d only just dashed out and was planning to go straight back to feed her."

As Linsey was rushed to hospital, her partner, The Young And The Restless star Robert Adamson, 29, raced to her side.
"He has been such a support. You couldn’t ask for a more loving, considerate, supportive person through all this," she says, adding that her castmates have also been ‘incredible’.
"Right away they were there. Thorsten Kaye, who plays my love interest, actually fed me my first meal at the hospital. And Don Diamont called my mother to let her know what had happened."
