Despite being through the worst of her severe morning sickness, Kate Middleton is still struggling with her second pregnancy and is "starting to feel really pregnant".

"Kate's starting to feel really pregnant. She's been joking about never passing up an opportunity to use the loo!," a family friend told Us Weekly.

However the 32-year-old Duchess of Cambridge, who is already mum to Prince George, is slowly recovering and is on track with planning for the new arrival which is due in April.

“Now that things are settled health-wise, she’s loving being surrounded by her girlfriends, having a laugh and talking baby things,” the friend added.

Kate and her husband Prince William are busy planning a communal children's playroom at the family’s Anmer Hall residence in Norfolk, England, for 16-month old George and his new brother or sister.

“But George won’t have to share his bedroom. I’m not sure George understands that Kate is pregnant. But they are talking to him about having a new brother or sister. They’re making sure he’s prepared the best they can,” the source explained.

Next week Kate and Wills are heading to the US for a three-day visit to New York and Washington where they will attend a number of charity events.

They last visited the US in 2011 during their royal tour but this will be the first visit to the East Coast for the couple.
