How to make party hat pom poms!

You will need:

- Cardboard
- Wool
- Scissors

Firstly, create a donut shape from two pieces of cardboard. The make the shape, find two circles to trace, one bigger in diameter than the other.

For these monsters we suggest the bigger circle be around 10cm in diameter and the smaller circle around 4cm. Then cut out your larger circle out and then your smaller circle.

To create your pom pom, you put the two pieces of cardboard together and wrap wool all the way around the rings. To do this, first cut your wool into manageable lengths.

Hold one end on the outside and thread the other end through the hole, round the back and through the front again.

If you need to use more wool, don’t join them together, simply make sure the ends are on the outside of your rings, not the inside.

Once the rings are fairly full of wool and you can’t pass the wool through the middle anymore, you need the cut the wool around the edge of your ring– simply pass the scissor blade between the two pieces of cardbroad as you are cutting.

After the wools has been cut, pull a piece of wool around through the middle of the two pieces of cardboard and tie to secure.

Pull the piece of cardboard off (or cut off if they are being stubborn). Trim any pieces that are longer than the rest and fluff up your pom pom
