Even though an air date has yet to be confirmed, fans have finally been given a glimpse at the final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones.

Releasing a teaser trailer for all of its upcoming 2019 shows, HBO gave fans a quick look at Westeros during the Golden Globes.

And the short scene, which seems to reveal what could be a monumental moment in the show, has left fans even more excited than before.

The scene finds Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen meeting Sophie Turner’s Sansa Stark for the first time, with her half brother Jon Snow (KIt Harington).

“Winterfell is yours, you grace,” she says, which suggests that she is willing to bend the knee to the Mother of Dragons.

Speaking of which, the clip also features some flying reptile action too, with one of Dany’s winged children on the charge with a phalanx of Dothraki warriors.

But all seems pretty calm here, meaning that news of the Night King’s new dragon Viserion breaching The Wall hasn’t yet reached Winterfell, which could put this scene among some of the first in season eight.

Game of Thrones is set to return in April (no fixed date as yet, but it’s sure to be forthcoming), and will be made up of six extended episodes.

Emilia Clarke recently spoke of the incoming drama that is set to consume the newly consummated couple, who are a bit more related than either of them yet realise.

“Daenerys’ lifelong dream has been to avenge her family and claim her rightful seat on the Iron Throne. She truly loves Jon,” she told TVInsider.

“Were she to find out about his title, it would cut deep.”

As we discovered at the end of season seven, Jon Snow is in fact the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, after his real parentage was revealed.

As for Sansa, her status has changed somewhat too.

“She’s a real, true leader of Winterfell now,” she told Digital Spy.

“And that’s where we first see her – as a very protective, empowered lady in charge. It’s the first time you ever see her like that, and it’s so amazing to see her like that – kind of owning her destiny.”
