Netherlands' Queen accused of looking 'unkempt'
Queen Maxima of the Netherlands has been accused of looking ‘dishevelled’ while undertaking an official engagement near Amsterdam.
The 48-year-old attended the Global SME Finance Forum on Tuesday, with her appearance drawing crowds of hundreds to the business conference.
Fashioning a red power suit, v-necked shirt and matching coloured heeled, the consort—who’s married to King Willem-Alexander—stunned in her fashion-forward look.
Royal critique
But for some royal watchers, they took issue with the Queen’s hair, labelling it everything from "messy" to simply "unkempt".
However, with the criticism somewhat isolated, others chose to focus on how the mother-of-three’s background as a financier take their attention.
Argentinian-born Maxima earned a degree in Economics and and a Master’s from a US college before starting her degree in the white-collar industry.
She later worked in New York and Brussels as a vice president of sales before meeting her future husband, a then-prince in 1999.
The couple later married in 2002 before having three daughters—Princess Catharina-Amalia, 14, Princess Alexia, 12, and 10-year-old Princess Ariane.
Their reign began almost a decade later in 2013 when Willem-Alexander’s mother abdicated after more than 33 years on the throne.
