Specific details about the project remain sketchy at this stage, but the show was casting for people who have been in relationships with romance fraudsters.
The series could see victims seek some sort of justice against those who have wronged them, with producers exploring ways to fight back against con artists.
Romance fraud and catfishing have proved to be fertile territory for Netflix, with the streamer working with other UK producers to deliver hits such as The Tinder Swindler.
Twenty Twenty, which adapted Channel 4’s First Dates for NBC in 2017, has previously produced Five Star Chef for Netflix. The cooking competition series was a co-production with Channel 4.
Twenty Twenty is currently making Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking for Food Network, a cooking competition inspired by J.K. Rowling’s novels and set against the backdrop of Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter.
