Must-See First-Look Photos from Prequel 'Outlander: Blood of My Blood'

No premiere date was named at the STARZ Television Critics Association press tour panel presentation for Outlander: Blood of My Blood, so it’s looking as if it will be 2025 before the spinoff series, inspired by characters from author Diana Gabaldon’s international bestselling books, will debut.

But first-look photos from the prequel to Outlander, which filmed exclusively in Scotland, were shared. The new series will explore the lives and relationship of Claire’s parents, Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) and Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy).

As a result, the series will be set in two different time periods as it centers on these two parallel love stories from different eras.

The good news for Outlander fans in terms of consistency in writing and familiarity with the story is that the production team behind the prequel is the same as the original series with Matthew B. Roberts serving as showrunner and executive producer on both series with Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis and Jim Kohlberg serving as executive producers on both as well. Moore and Davis developed Outlander for television, under their production banner Tall Ship Productions.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood will be available across all STARZ platforms in the U.S.
