Mum spots daughter in photo taken years before she was born

A mum has shared a creepy photo which she believes shows her youngest daughter hiding behind a table – but the photo was actually taken years before the little girl was born.

Laura Cisse only spotted the eerie figure last week when the image of her eldest daughter Ayesha, now 15, popped up as a Facebook memory from 10 years ago.

The mum-of-two spotted a little blonde girl in the background of the image and mistook her for her youngest daughter Sophie, before realising that Sophie wasn’t even born when it was taken.

“The girl looks like Sophie. It does have a look of her. It’s very strange,” the 38-year-old said.

“When I first looked at the picture when I saw it again my eyes went straight to the face and I thought ‘what’s Sophie doing there? I’ve never seen her in that picture before’.

“But then I realised Sophie wasn’t even born when the photo was taken. It can’t have been her.”

Shocked by her discovery, Laura rushed to show family the ‘unexplainable’ picture as she had thought no one else had been in the room when the photo was taken.

“I ran downstairs and said to my boyfriend and said have you seen this. I rang my mum and everybody and none of us can explain it,” she said.

“My sister was really shocked by it as she really believes in a lot of this and suggested we look into this history of the house.”

In the photo, then five-year-old Ayesha is posing in a blue dress for the camera in their old house, which they moved out of later that year.

Meanwhile, peering over a table ornament in the background near the door, is the clear face of a blonde-haired girl who appears to be staring straight at the camera.

“The strange thing about it is that I posted it to Facebook but I never noticed the face before,” the mum, from the UK, said.

“It was only when it popped up on my ‘memories’ last week of 10 years ago that I noticed it.

Now the mum wonders if the apparition could be an ‘echo from the future’ of her unborn daughter.

“I remember taking the picture. It was a Saturday, it was raining and I was washing up and Ayesha had been nagging me to try on the dress as it was new,” she said.

“When she put it on I said she looked lovely and that I would take a photograph of her. I took the photo and then carried on washing up.

“I can remember it because it was such a nice dress and such a nice photo and I thought she could have been a model as she never usually had her hair down like that.

“I remember we were alone and there were no other children there.”

“Someone at work suggested it could be a doll’s head on the table, but it couldn’t be because Ayesha didn’t have any dolls as there were none with afros so she didn’t want one,” she said.

“I can’t believe I’ve never noticed it before.”

As a believer in the paranormal and a self-confessed ‘chicken’ when it comes to ghosts, Laura was immediately scared when she spotted the face.

And despite racking her brains to figure out how the little girl got there, Laura has now decided that the photo is truly ‘unexplainable’.

“You see spooky pictures on Facebook all the time but I always think someone could have edited it.

“But to have it happen to myself and know that there was nobody in that room but us, that is unexplainable.”

While Laura takes some comfort from the photo she admits they have since moved out of the house.

“In a way, perhaps it is nice to see,” she said. “My daughter is going through a tough time at school at the moment so if she does have something looking out for her I hope it’s still around. I just hope it doesn’t show itself to me.”
