While rice is among the easiest staples to complete any home-cooked meal, it can leave some truly daunting burn stains on a saucepan if not cooked to perfection.

But now one group of mums have lifted the lid on how to rid pans of any remnants of burnt rice, and their solution apparently needs ‘zero scrubbing’ for success.

The hack was revealed in a cleaning enthusiasts group online after a mum asked for help when everything she’d tried to remove the pan’s burn failed.

Quickly, a barrage of users offered their advice, with one suggesting filling the pan with boiling water and a dishwasher tablet before leaving it to soak overnight.

“Put a dishwashing tablet in the bottom and cover with boiling hot water,” the savvy mum wrote, adding, “it requires zero scrubbing”.

Just hours later, the burnt pan owner happily confirmed the hack had done the trick with some impressive before and after images, and reported that indeed, “no scrubbing was needed”.

And while the method is somewhat ingenious, it’s far from the first time the internet has solved cleaning’s most stubborn problems.

Last month, one Australian mum revealed how a $6 denture cleaning product transformed her tile floor while an influencer revealed weeks earlier how to get ever the most well-worn running shoe looking brand-spanking new again.
