Mum furious after mother-in-law crops her out of daughter's first birthday pictures

A woman is less than impressed after her mother-in-law ruined one of her most precious family memories.

The unnamed woman had asked her mother-in-law to take pictures at her daughter’s first birthday party, but when she looked over the shots she was devastated to see that she had been cropped out of every single one.

“This past weekend my daughter had her first bday party!” she explained in a Reddit post. “We hosted, so I was running around and asked my mom and my MIL to make sure they got plenty of pictures to share with me later for my daughter’s memory book.”

“My mother got some special shots – and to be fair my MIL got some good ones too of my daughter…. however, I am cut out of EVERY SINGLE PICTURE that my MIL took.”

She continued: “So much so that if I was on the right side of the photo there’s even more room on the left side specifically to avoid having me in the shot.”

To make matters worse, her husband is captured opening presents with their daughter, but all that can be seen of the woman in the snaps is her arm or knee.

“I should have known because during the party she was instructing on group shots of her, her husband, her daughter, my hubby and our baby and it wasn’t until my husband said ‘why isn’t my wife in this?’ That she replied ‘oh, sure, how about EVERYONE get in!!’

The woman was so mad that she called out her mother-in-law, texting her to say, ” I noticed I am cut out of all your pictures”.

But in reply she was only sent a photo of herself that was clearly taken from her husband’s phone because her mother-in-law could be seen in the background.

Naturally, her tale stirred up a lot of reaction in the comments. Many believed she should punish her MIL for such mean spirited behaviour.

“Oh look, she managed to get rid of all the evidence that you where at your own child’s first birthday! Return the favour and make she isn’t at the second,” one person commented.

“I would be petty – it will be too bad that going forward she won’t make it on any pictures. Also, all pictures you send her should have you in it in such a way that you cannot be cut out. She knows what she is doing, good for you for calling her out on it. Don’t rely on her to take pictures. Actually, tell her that she is not required to take pictures for you anymore,” another suggested.

But some claimed that MIL could have just made an innocent mistake.

“Awe haha. I’m not convinced it was a consciously malicious decision,” one person wrote.

While the mum replied: “I’m not 100% convinced she did it on purpose actually- which was part of the reason I called her out so she could be aware of it. I think it was more so that granddaughter and hubby were subconsciously the ones she really wanted to photograph and she didn’t think to include me in the frame because she was so in awe over the two of her baaaaaaabies.”

It comes after another mother-in-law got her son to change his baby’s name behind the mum’s back. Eek!
