A mum has been left fuming after her son was uninvited from his classmate’s birthday party over his allergies.

The woman left so frustrated that she decided to take to Quora to ask others how she should tell her son that he can’t go to the party anymore.

“My child got invited to a birthday party. When the mother found out my child had a peanut allergy she uninvited him. How would you explain to your child why he can't go?” she said.

People’s opinions were divided online, with some saying that the mother of the other child was totally out of line uninvited her kid and others claiming that maybe the mother wouldn’t have felt comfortable if anything had gone wrong on the day.

One commenter just said to place all the blame exactly where it belongs - on the mother.

“Tell your son that his friend’s mother uninvited him because he has a peanut allergy which she is irrationally afraid of because she is ignorant,” she said.

“Assure him that his friend still likes him and had nothing to do with the decision to uninvite him. His friend cannot help it that he has an ignorant mother who does not care about the feelings of other people.”

Another person said it was ‘utterly cruel’ of the other mother to uninvite the kid from the party and suggested that the boy should bring his own food to the party to eat instead.

Others said that the other mother was probably just looking out for the safety of the boy and didn’t mean to exclude him from the party.

“In fairness to the mother she probably became nervous about keeping your child safe in her watch. Too many liabilities. And a good thing too as you would need to know your child is safe,” one person said.

“I would also have a really good outing planned to save the day, something that would be even better than the birthday party.

“Just so that if other kids ask your child why he didn't attend the party he can always brag that he had a blast doing something else,” she said.
