Yahoo Lifestyle Morgan and Tom Have High Potential For Romance in Midseason Premiere — 2025 FIRST LOOK (Exclusive)
TVLine’s month-long #2025FirstLook series continues with a cozy breakfast date for two, and you don’t need to be a high potential individual to pick up on the duo’s intense chemistry.
We’re referring to two of the LAPD’s finest, Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) and Tom (JD Pardo), who decide to take their feelings for a spin when High Potential resumes its first season on Tuesday, Jan. 7 (ABC, 9/8c).

And lest you doubt the couple’s connection, the official logline even confirms that “Morgan begins to let her guard down on her date with Tom.” If you’ve been watching all season, you know that’s a big deal.

Speaking with TVLine in November, High Potential showrunner Todd Harthan recalled that Pardo agreed to join the show before he even saw a script.
“It turns out he’s a massive Kaitlin Olson fan, and he was like, ‘I’ll do anything. You just tell me where and when,'” Harthan said. “He has this natural charm and he’s so comfortable in his own skin, both as a human being and as an actor. He folded right in. He was great.”
Elsewhere in the midseason premiere, “the team investigates a mysterious young girl who was found attacked on a beach” and “Soto comes one step closer to finding out what happened to Roman.”
