Mom stunned by 4-year-old son’s grocery store act: 'Can I just have one?'

Kids really do say the darndest things.

A 4-year-old boy from Wales was with his mother during a trip to the supermarket. The mother filmed the boy riding in the children’s seat in a shopping cart, wearing suspenders, glasses and only a pair of red and blue socks. The tiny tot ate chips (American French fries) from a takeout package.

When the mom asks if she can have a chip, he brings up an incident from earlier that day.

“If you had gone to the gym today, you could have had one of these chips but you didn’t. So you can’t,” he says, prodding the fries with his fork.

“Can I just have one?” she pleads.

“No,” he says, shoveling a fry into his mouth. “Because you didn’t go to the gym.”

The mother clearly found the whole thing hilarious as she can be heard chuckling from behind the camera.

From the mouths of babes! It’s perfectly normal and healthy for kids to tease their parents a bit, according to Empowering Parents. As long as the behavior doesn’t enter disrespectful territory, it is usually just harmless fun.
