Married at First Sight star Mick Gould has revealed the secret tiff with onscreen wife Jessika Power that was mysteriously never aired during the series’ blockbuster run.
And while the incident marked just one of many quarrels during the pair’s tumultuous relationship, it may help explain some of the ex-couple’s heated animosity toward each other.
The revelation came as part of a Facebook Q&A where the 32-year-old farmer revealed he overheard a secret phone call Jess made apparently revealing her true motivations for being on the show.
Mick’s response to the fan’s question detailed a FaceTime call Jess made to a friend on loudspeaker during the couple’s honeymoon as the marriage was already unravelling.
“I overheard her friend say ‘Ohh, well seeing as you don’t like him just keep him there till the end, imagine the Instagram likes and follows you will have’,” he claimed was said in the call.
“There were more comments made by Jess like ‘the producers love me because I bring the drama. My story is going to be amazing, etc’.
“I called my producer and wanted out straight away but had to wait for a camera crew to come and confront Jess.
“This was all on camera but all they chose to show was me calling Jess a spoilt brat. Hence why there wasn’t much communication because I didn’t trust her.”
The shocking sequence could help explain the tumultuous pair’s moves throughout the series which saw Jess choosing to stay in the experiment – and with Mick – in a bid to get closer to Dan.
