Michelle Obama Favors Lace-up Detailing in Rabanne Cropped Jacket for SXSW Film Festival 2025
Michelle Obama took the stage in style during the 2025 SXSW Film Festival on Thursday in Austin. The former first lady of the United States chatted with Craig Robinson for an episode of the “IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson” podcast.
Obama opted for a coordinated look, wearing a cotton cropped jacket courtesy of Rabanne. The jacket was a shade of earth brown and featured a front button fastening down the placket. It also featured two chest flap pockets with a silver button motif, long sleeves and a lace-up detailing beneath the pockets.

Obama’s jacket coordinated with her pants, which featured the same shade and lace-up detailing near the waist.
Obama accessorized her attire with jewelry by Kendra Scott. The “Becoming” bestselling author styled the lab-grown white diamond custom Elisa drop earrings in white gold, which featured patent-pending, custom-cut lab grown diamonds.
Obama paired the earrings with a Larissa band ring in sterling silver stacked with an Emery silver band ring in silver on her left hand. She completed her accessories with a Larissa band ring in sterling silver on her right hand.
Stylist Meredith Koop curated Obama’s look. Koop previously styled Obama for the 2024 Democratic National Convention in August, where she wore a look courtesy of Monse, with Jimmy Choo shoes and David Yurman jewelry.
The stylist also curated Obama’s look for the 2024 Albie Awards last September. The former first lady of the United States styled a custom suit by Versace for the event, accessorizing with Jimmy Choo shoes and jewelry by David Yurman.
