Mexican international Raúl Jiménez casually opens Premier League season with freaking worldie (video)

Let the record show Raúl Jiménez went all of 2 minutes and 19 seconds without a golazo this season.

Jiménez handed Wolverhampton Wanderers a rousing start Monday against Sheffield United with as stylish a finish as you’ll see. The Mexican international patiently awaited a bounding cross from Daniel Podence and flawlessly clipped his half-volley past keeper Aaron Ramsdale:

His teammate Romain Saïss doubled the lead with a header in the sixth minute, and Wolves won 2-0.

Jiménez scored 27 goals last season across all competitions, including 17 in the Premier League. The 29-year-old will be a central figure in Wolves’ push to return to the Europa League this season, and maybe even make the Champions League for the first time.

There have been rumblings about Manchester United’s interest in Jiménez this summer, though it remains to be seen if there’s any substance to them.

There’s definitely substance to Jiménez’s ability. Ask Sheffield United.
