How did you start in CF, and how can the average guy get involved?

I was first introduced to CrossFit in 2003 by some friends of mine in the military. At the time our training sessions were two to sometimes three hours long and we were starting to get some overuse injuries. CrossFit was a shorter more intense session that also allowed us more time to recover. It was a no brainer.
