WATCH: Four Combinations To Crush Your Core

When most people hear the word "core," they think only of their abs.

But your core includes all the muscles between your shoulders and hips - both front and back, and on the side. Read: There's a lot more to it than just your six-pack.

That's why Men’s Health Fitness Director BJ Gaddour created these combinations to hammer all of the muscles you need for a rock-solid core. With this short series of eight moves, you'll build stronger shoulders, healthier hips, tighter glutes, and, yes, harder abs. Oh, and you'll sweat buckets, too.

For the first combination, you’ll activate every muscle between your shoulders and your hips with an isometric hip thrust. Then, you’ll follow that up with kettlebell swings that hit your core while blasting fat and building muscle at the same time. The result is an absolute belly scorcher.

Then you’ll combine the side plank and the split squat.

The second combination pairs the hollow body push-up hold with the dumbbell overhead press.
