Have Spotify, will run.

It's pretty much a given that music helps with running performance, with a heap of scientific study to prove it. But choosing the right tunes on the go can be a hit and miss affair. With the launch of "Spotify Running", the Swedish music streaming service aims to take the guesswork out of users' choices and boost their performance.

Its new update taps into into the movement and tracking sensors on users' phones, allowing the app to detect their running pace. From there, the app quickly creates a playlist based on listening history that matches running tempo to the music's BPM. Change tempo and the music changes to match.

Beyond a user's own history and playlist choices, Spotify will also throw in original running compositions from top DJs and composers to make sure that runner's high lasts through to the finish line.
