Women find creativity hot.

And writing music, performing in a band, or practicing any other music-related endeavours are among the sexiest ways for you to flash your creative side, shows a new study from the University of Pennsylvania.

Along with musical creativity, the study also found “taking artistic photographs” (not dick picks!), writing poetry, and practicing other artsy habits chart high on most women’s hotness meters. On the other hand, interior designing, computer programming, and writing advertisements - though all productive endeavours - are less likely to boost your love life, the study shows.

People all over the world list creativity as a desirable quality in a mate, the study authors say. But guys who dabble in what the authors call “aesthetic” forms of creativity - basically, anything having to do with art or culture - get a bigger bump in sexual attractiveness than those who practice more utilitarian or technological kinds.

Why? Art-based creativity tends to be tied in a woman’s mind to intelligence, work ethic, and good genes, past research has found.

But there’s a big catch. If your girl is into computer programming, interior design, or another non-traditional form of creative expression, she’ll be attracted to your abilities in that area, says study coauthor Dr Scott Barry Kaufman.
